Exams

Learners sit their GCSE exams at the end of Year 11. These exams are written and marked by external exam boards, and the content within these exams is designed to test learners on what they have learnt over their GCSE study period; at St James, this period is Years 9-11.

In addition to this, learners in Years 10 and 11 will have several mock exams which will not only allow them to experience what a GCSE exam feels like and what they need to do, but also give our teachers an in-depth understanding and overview of what each learner and each class needs to concentrate on. In year 11, extra periods are added on to the school day to give learners maximum revision time.
