St James Academy's Star Poet Heads to Shakespeare’s Globe
St James Academy is thrilled to announce that Fatima, a talented learner from our school, has emerged as a finalist in the prestigious Key Stage 3 Classic Competition of the Poetry By Heart National Competition. This remarkable achievement highlights Fatima's exceptional skill in the art of poetic recitation.
Fatima will join other finalists at the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe in London on Monday 7th July 2025 to compete for the esteemed title of National Champion in her key stage. The event, which celebrates and recognises outstanding achievement in speaking poems, will be fully funded for all participants. On Sunday 6th July, Poetry By Heart will host an overnight stay and a visit to Shakespeare's Globe for all finalists, including guided tours and performances, before the competition.

Each year, thousands of learners from across the country participate in Poetry By Heart. This makes Fatima's achievement of becoming a finalist even more remarkable.
