The Earls High School

We believe passionately that education has one, deeply important, characteristic that nothing else can match. A good education gives the opportunity for any individual to transcend their starting point. Education is the one thing that allows us all to enhance our natural talents, gifts and abilities. That is what we strive for at The Earls, creating enhanced life chances for our students.

The school motto: 'Ut filii lucis fiatis', almost literally 'to become the children of light', that's what we want for our students: to become enlightened.

As an Ofsted rated Outstanding school, The Earls promotes a challenging and stimulating environment that aims to fully engage students in their learning. We are looking to train, develop and support School Direct candidates who have the potential to be outstanding practitioners.

The training and support offered by The Earls to NQT 's is excellent, it is supportive and tailored to the needs of a new teacher. Each teacher is encouraged to stretch themselves and reflect on their own practise in order to challenge and progress with the comfort of knowing that have outstanding support behind them.

Steph, MfL

The training and support I received during my NQT training really helped me develop at the start of my teaching career. Not only did this training help me within my classroom teaching but other aspects of school life were covered and developed upon as well. A comfortable environment for every session was created where I could share my ideas, ask any questions and be challenged.

Esther, Music

I have had a fantastic experience of the training and induction programme during my NQT year at The Earls. From the very beginning I was made to feel supported by the Induction mentor and other members of staff who were running induction sessions. The induction programme consisted of several very well planned and executed sessions which covered key aspects of teaching which I could quickly and easily integrate into my lessons. Observations were always carried out in a very supportive and positive manor. Because all current NQT's attended the sessions it was also a great way to get to know others who were in the same position as myself and could relate to my experiences of teaching in my first year.

Chris, Science

The encouragement and support provided by my subject mentor and Induction tutor during my NQT year was absolutely first class and the regular and comprehensive mentor meetings and NQT induction sessions were fantastic! I can highly recommend The Earls High School to anyone looking to complete their Initial Teacher Training or NQT year here.

Helen, English

If you have the knowledge, passion and commitment required to become an outstanding practitioner then you should aim to train at The Earls.

The Earls is proud to announce that we are working in partnership with a number of schools in order to secure outstanding teachers to give our students the very best educational opportunities.
