Dudley Multi-Academy Trust

The Dudley Multi-Academy Trust brings together Castle High School with Hillcrest School and Community College, Holly Hall Academy and The High Arcal School under the sponsorship of Dudley College of Technology.

Under these arrangements the schools retain their own identities but work closely together with the college to improve outcomes for learners. Existing Headteachers maintain day-to-day leadership and management for their respective schools. The Trust has a Chief Executive Officer to oversee its operations and now supports 8,500 young people aged 11 to 19 years old with a total operating income in excess of £60 million.

The Trust’s focus is on achieving improved educational outcomes at Key Stage 3 and beyond. A significant emphasis will be placed on driving up GCSE attainment in Mathematics and English. Support for learners with learning difficulties will also be strengthened. Over time the Trust will seek to better align the schools’ curriculum to local and regional skills needs, with a growing emphasis on digital technologies and science and technology.

In the first three years of its operation, Dudley College will invest up to £500,000 in the Trust to ensure a financially secure transfer occurs as the new structure is embedded. Going forward the trust will vigorously bid for financial support from funds such as the Regional Academy Growth Fund as well as looking for capital investment from industry, to allow it to achieve its ambitious plans to transform its estate.

This is an exciting opportunity for us here at Castle that will help us to offer a wider curriculum, enhance facilities and support the quality of teaching and learning for all of our students. We will remain as Castle High School and benefit from working together more formally with other local schools and Dudley College. We are delighted to be part of a Trust that will strengthen the educational opportunities and outcomes across Dudley. It is great to be part of such an investment in education that will support the schools ambition to be the very best it can and continue to be a great place to be!
